Meet Your Therapist

Dr. Brandon Schaffer, PT, DPT is a physical therapist dedicated to helping people break free from the cycle of persistent pain and return to the activities that matter most to them.

He has experience working across a variety of settings including inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and outpatient orthopedics. Throughout his career, Dr. Schaffer has worked closely with multidisciplinary teams treating patients with chronic pain and complex conditions.

Over time, he began to notice that many people continued to struggle with pain despite receiving high-quality care. This led him to explore modern pain science and approaches that address the broader factors influencing recovery — including the nervous system, stress, sleep, and movement patterns.

Through his work in chronic pain and a functional restoration program, Dr. Schaffer developed a more holistic approach to care that focuses on treating the whole person rather than only the site of injury.

In addition to physical therapy, he has pursued training in Reiki through UC Davis lineage and integrates nervous system–focused practices and energy healing into his work when appropriate. He believes that combining evidence-based rehabilitation with whole-person care can help people build resilience, restore confidence in their bodies, and achieve lasting recovery.

In his free time, Brandon enjoys being outdoors and taking trips with his wife, Shruti, and their 8-month-old maltipoo, Rani. He also enjoys golf, attending live music events, and biking.
